Powertap Solutions installed accent lighting for stone feature walls in a home in Ruiru, Kiambu County. Warm-white recessed uplights set into the floor skim light up the stone, bringing out its texture and giving the entrance a warm, high-end finish after dark.
What we installed
- Four recessed floor uplights along the stone feature wall in the entrance hall, evenly spaced to wash the wall with light.
- Three recessed floor lights along the base of a second stone-clad wall below a window.
- Flush, low-profile fittings set into the floor so there is nothing to trip on or collect dust.
- Concealed wiring, so the walls and floors stay clean with only the light visible.
Why accent lighting makes stone walls stand out
Stone cladding looks flat under ordinary ceiling lights. Light placed low and close to the wall grazes the surface, so every ridge and edge casts a small shadow and the texture comes alive. Warm-white light also makes entrances, stairways and living areas feel welcoming, and it works as soft night lighting without turning on the main lights.
Result
The entrance now has a lit feature wall that makes a strong first impression for visitors, and a second wall that glows softly at night. Installed in November 2025 in Ruiru, Kiambu County.
